Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer

Before founding Gaocheng, Ms. Hong was a Partner, Head of Private Equity and Investment Committee member of Hillhouse Capital Group. Prior to Hillhouse, she was the Managing Director and Head of global emerging markets consumer sector, and Head of Beijing office of General Atlantic LLC. Previously Ms. Hong worked for Warburg Pincus LLC and McKinsey & Company.

Ms. Hong has been engaged in growth stage private equity investment for two decades, led private investments including Alibaba(BABA), Meituan(3690.HK), Didi(DIDI, Beike(BEKE), Sun Art(6808.HK), ZTO Express(ZTO), Full Truck Alliance(YMM), Fang.com(SFUN), Wind, Tuya(TUYA), Bairong(6608.HK), Beisen (9669.HK), Youzan(8083.HK), Ming Yuan Cloud(0909.HK), Chanjet(1588.HK), JST, Momenta, Xtool, Neolix etc.

Ms. Hong received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in International Finance and an M.S. degree in Engineering Management from Tsinghua University. She Serves on the Alumni Boards of Harvard Business School and Tsinghua School of Economics and Management.

Ms. Hong was named Forbes’ Midas List of Top Tech Investors for 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Demos Guo

Managing Director

Mr. Guo is Managing Director at Gaocheng Capital.Prior to Gaocheng, Mr. Guo worked at General Atlantic as a growth investor. Previously, he worked for J.P. Morgan Investment Banking Department in Hong Kong.

Mr. Guo has led or actively involved in the investment in Bytedance, 58.com (WUBA), Jushuitan(6687.HK), Yealink(300628.SZ), Beisen(9669.HK), Bairong(6608.HK), Youzan(8083.HK), DerbySoft, Xiaoe Tech, etc.

Mr. Guo received a Master degree of Economics from Peking University, a Master degree of Finance from Hong Kong University, and a Bachelor degree from Renmin University.

Matt Xu

Managing Director

Mr. Xu is Managing Director at Gaocheng Capital, focusing on growth-stage investments in enterprise software, fintech, and software-defined hardware.

Prior to joining Gaocheng, Mr. Xu was an Associate at A.T. Kearney and previously worked at Kurt Salmon, a management consulting firm under Accenture. Earlier in his career, he served as a software engineer at NS Solutions and Intel Corporation, building a strong foundation in technology and strategic consulting.

He has led investments including PingPong, Momenta, Tuya Smart (NYSE: TUYA), XTool, eVAT Master, Ziniao Browser, Neolix, XHeart, Panda Remit, UMU, and SmartBI.

Mr. Xu holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Gloria Liu

Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer and member of the Risk & Control Committee.

Ms. Liu joined Gaocheng in 2021 and is responsible for the overall legal and compliance, investor relations and fund operations of the funds managed by Gaocheng Capital.

Prior to joining Gaocheng full time, Ms. Liu served the Gaocheng investment team as their external legal counsel. She was a partner at DLA Piper, one of the world’s largest law firms, and was highly ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500 for her expertise and reputation in private equity transactions. She worked across the Pacific in places like Silicon Valley, Shanghai and Hong Kong, but always with a focus on private equity and venture capital investments.

Ms. Liu holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She has been admitted to practice law in California since 2002, and was dually qualified as a Hong Kong Solicitor from 2012 to 2021.

Ivy Liu

Chief Financial Officer

Member of the Gaocheng Portfolio Management Commitee and Risk & Control Committee.

Since joining Gaocheng in 2019, Ms. Liu has been responsible for fund finance, project due diligence, portfolio development, and exit-related work. She participated in the exits of projects such as EEO, Hengtai, and Baorong,etc..

Ms. Liu has over 19 years experience in finance and portfolio management. Prior to Gaocheng, Ms. Liu served as a Senior Director at Meituan-Dianping’s Strategic Investment Department,  where she oversaw pre-investment due diligence, post-investment management, M&A execution, and deal exit. Previously Ms. Liu worked as the Executive Director of Hillhouse Capital Group in charge of portfolio management and fund operation.Earlier in her career, Ms. Liu worked at a venture investment fund Innovation Works and the Fund Audit Group at PwC.

Ms. Liu holds a Master degree in International Business and Economics and a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of International Business and Economics.
